Abstract As part of study to extract planning methods of public street space in cities, the purpose of this study is to analyze regional characteristics of street space according to Facade characteristics. The followings are results of this study. Firstly, when classifying types of Facade, there were 8 types in the first floor and there were 85 mixed types(44.3%) of 'HV-b' among total 191 stores. Those mixed types accounted for the largest number of them. Also, C-business type accounted for the largest number of them at 49(57.6%) in 'HV-b' type. Secondly, when dividing Facade characteristics into 「continuous section」, 「mixed section」 and 「discontinuous section」, it was found that there were 7 continuous sections, 3 mixed sections and 3 discontinuous sections. Thirdly, 「full perspective」 accounted for majority of stores at 171(89.5%) of 191 in the first floor consisting of street space. Especially, in case of stores facing street in Dong-sung ro, both sides of their external and internal parts formed Facade as 'viewable walls' which mutually and visually keep close relationships with each other. Fourthly, when analyzing regional zoning of street space according to Facade characteristics in both sides of street, continuous area(Ⅰ) accounted for the largest number of the whole street spaces at 2, mixed area(Ⅱ) was located at the edge of the southernmost part of street and discontinues area(Ⅲ) was located at the central part of street.
