Abstract The purpose of this study is to clarify common phenomena that are used in the design methodology of contemporary architecture. This study defines these phenomena as 'Verbalization Experiment'. It is the concept for the experiment constructing design based on the art will and the material possibility. It is carried out by adding verb-action stimulating the material possibility designer`s own notion decides. The constructed design results are classified as form construction, skin construction, circulation construction and program organization. 'Verbalization Experiment' has the significance and possibility as new diagram, process-concept in contemporary architectural design methods. It is also possible to make verb-list for experiment, and it enables active participation of designers and user in the process of 'Verbalization Experiment' in the future.
