Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the investigation of consumer's consciousness for NEO-Hanok Maeul(Korean traditional style village). The target group for this consumer research was whole population. The contents of investigation was largely composed of two parts; First was about individual Hanok architecture such as general understanding, merits and demerits, requirement, intent and cost willing to pay. Second was about collective Hanok village such as recognition, affordable size, location, etc. The result of this study is as following: 1. the concept of NEO-Hanok Maeul should not only be defined in terms of heritage or tourism but daily life and practical community. 2. the spatial structure of Hanok Maeul could be transformed in concept for modern taste conserving main concept of traditional spatial structure. 3. the cost for NEO-Hanok Maeul was preferred about 4~6 million won for 3.3 square meters. 4. about 50 collective housings was preferred for Hanok Maeul size embodying the traditional collective landscape and communities. 5. in terms of location, the favor of suburban where surrounding nature and connecting downtown nearly was dominant. The consumer research for Hanok Maeul should succeed for vitalizing Hanok, and the research for traditional village spatial structure and improving the constitution of urban design and site planning.
