Abstract The underground and indoor open space of mixed-use building is place that promotes citizens' social communication functions and contributes to human-centered lifestyle emphasizing the city's context. Therefore, the underground and indoor open space in mixed-use building must be prioritized for public usage requiring 'publicity' to some extent. The purpose of this research is to draw architectural publicity elements of underground and indoor architectural plans for the public usage of underground and indoor open space in mixed-use building through perspective researches of end-users. The research methods used are literature review and survey. Through literature review, the definition and key elements of 'architectural publicity' were drawn while survey questionnaire were written up. Also, we have visited mixed-use buildings and conducted in-person survey/interview with the users of indoor open space. The information were collected using SPSS statistics package and survey methods such as average analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, etc. Based on the results of this research, the following conclusions can be drawn: First, combined plans considering all-around factors namely 'close proximity', 'cleanliness', 'convenience', 'openness', 'relativity' are required for the expansion of public usage of underground and indoor open space in mixed-use building. Second, space plans and facilities for safety and convenience when entering open space should be installed in attempt to securing 'close proximity'. Third, for 'amenity', green area, suitable illuminance, maintenance and management of indoor air quality are needed. Fourth, in terms of 'openness', the open connectivity among nearby spaces of indoor open space, especially walking space, green area, public area, vertical circulatory facilities are needed. Fifth, for 'relativity', open spaces and cultural or industrial purpose spaces are required. Sixth, for 'convenience', user networking, cultural activity support are needed by installing cultural, commercial spaces.
