Not only assessment tools but also a growing number of guidelines have been developed to integrate concepts of substantiality into public buildings around the world. This paper compares green building guidance documents based on all phases of life cycle of a building including inception, design, building, construction, building operation, and finally demolition. In this paper through the comparison analysis, it is to present the improvement direction for domestic green building guidelines for public buildings that consider the entire life cycle. Therefore, there is a proposal to improve domestic green building guidelines which reflect from analysis of comparison between foreign building guidelines for public buildings.
