Abstract In this study, in order to confirm the behavior of punching shear failure of the flat plate slab-column interior connection of a typical 7 floors-sized ordinary office building, we developed the shear reinforcing bar of 4 kinds, I, J, SR and C type, by using the anchorage head that is being used as the mechanical anchorage, and assessed the shear performance to the punching shear of the flat plate slab-column interior connection. As the result of comparison between the ACI code and the experimental value, all 4 kinds of the shear reinforcing bar, I, J, SR and C type, have shown 1.75 times, 1.63 times, 1.75 times, 1.43 times respectively higher than the ACI standard code. Thus, as the shear reinforcing type proposed by this study is easy for working at the site and safe structurally, it is judged that it resists effectively the punching shear failure of the flat plate slab-column interior connection.
