Abstract This paper presents a method to estimate the setting time of cement mortar incorporating admixtures under various curing temperature conditions by applying equivalent age method. Ordinary Portland cement (OPC), blast furnace slag cement (BS) and pre-heater dust added cement (PD) are used for binder. To obtain apparent activation energy (Ea), Arrhenius plot based on ASTM C 1074 and the setting time, which was proposed by Pinto, is applied, respectively. For Ea from ASTM C 1074, it is calculated to 30~50 kJ/mol, while Ea from Pinto’s suggestion is ranged from 15~21 kJ/mol. For the estimation of the setting time, it is found that the calculated setting times by applying Pinto’s suggestion have good agreement with measured one, while the calculated setting time by ASTM C 1074 have somewhat large deviation compared to that of measured ones.
