Abstract |
According to the psychological type theory of C.G.Jung, human behavior has a very well-arranged consistency, though human behavior seems to be various and precarious. This research analyzes the relationship between personality and interior style. This research provides a theoretical base for scientific identification of the relationship of behaviors that are revealed outwardly through inner consciousness of human-beings. For this purpose, this research has diagnosed and analyzed the individual personalty of 139 persons composed of the students majoring in architecture and the employees in architectural design offices by using the Form G Type MBTI personality test kit with 94 items. After presenting 10 words expressing each interior type together with the personality test kit, preference survey was made according to styles. The relationship between personality and interior style preference was analyzed by SPSS Windows Ver.18.0 and the followings are the major results of the analysis: First, responders with introversion type(I) preferred minimal style more than those with extraversion type. Second, sensitive responders(S) preferred high-tech style, while intuitive responders(N) preferred romantic style. Third, thinking type responders(T) preferred high-tech and modern style, while feeling type responders(F) preferred romantic style. Fourth, judgement type responders(J) preferred classic style more than recognition type responders(P). |
