Abstract |
Following the green growth drive, LED lighting technology and design have been encouraged to apply in the field of architecture. However, LED lighting has been mostly used in landscape lighting or emphasizing special objects in structures, so the scope of application for LED lighting is raised as an issue. To apply LED lighting in interior design, it is necessary to systematically analyze types and patterns of lightings, light density or energy consumption levels by lighting type. In this study, to find the effectiveness and efficiency of LED lightings which is being developed to replace existing lightings in residential space, we selected several residences using general lamps among apartment houses and investigated their interior lighting environments. Based on the collected data, we analyzed the interior lighting environment and energy consumption performance by using a lighting simulation software package. By using the results, we reviewed the applicability of LED lightings in apartment houses. |
