| Abstract |
This paper is research on architectural characteristics of 'Sowhajang', early Japanese style apartment housing type in Korean modern age. This study had been investigated on the Sowhajang focused on the modern equipment and skill and transitional dwelling shape crossing Korean modern age since the 1945. The paper will show the characteristics of housing structural skill and original shape on the past Japanese on 1944. The Sowhajang building had been built by Japanese Orient Colonization Company pursuit for their advanced technology. And than, many the other advanced technologies had discovered this paper, such as main wooden floor with concrete floor for using water services, multi-structural system with brick wall and wooden floor, the mail box, electric and gas utilities, refuge pass and dust shute. Owing to this result on historical meaning of technology of Sowhajang will be follow to the other paper concerning on the modern cultural dwelling transitional happened on the unit plan crossing modern age. |
