Abstract Recently, many entertainment mixed commercial projects are increased on existing urban areas and commercial areas of new towns. Successful projects among them are mostly formed with entertainment facility. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze types of existing entertainment destination projects and investigate spatial structure and site planning issues of these project types. As a case study, 8 recent development projects - Jun wave, Metapolis, La festa, Western dom, COEX mall, Time square, Reston town center, Old pasadena - were selected in terms of location and development methods. We conducted on-the-spot whole survey and drawing analysis. And On the basis of these analysis, three issues are raised as major factors of successful project. Firstly, existing entertainment destinations are classified with building combination type, three-dimensional complex type, and district integration type. As for utilization and facility spatial structure of commercial destination, the three-dimensional complex type, which keeps the vertical and horizontal dimensional connection(compared to the building combination type which connects each floor vertically through floor grouping) is being developed at the core of newtown. As for a foreign developed example, the district integration type is confirmed to keep the horizontal connection. Finally, as for the constructional plan of entertainment mixed commercial, the contents of the plan related to utilization and facility structure, linked each utilization, square, walkways, parking and traffic plan are extracted from this thesis.
