Abstract The background of this study is aimed to induce to universities campus the analysis method of Space Syntax which is being used to analyze predictability of the main road utilization rate in urban planning. Thereupon, it has set up a factor that affects the configuration of a university campus and aims to examine the differences of road system connectivity and accessibility among facilities based on the effect resulted from it. According to what is written above, this study selected four universities located in Gwangju as subject facilities, and for the analysis, ArchiSpecer2.0 program of Space Syntax was used to analyze line and side space. As a result, ⅠGroup(A, C university) showed better results than ⅡGroup(B, D university) in terms of spatial connectivity of each facility regarding each university’s traffic network and spatial utilization rate regarding facilities. It was interpreted that the chief causes were the crowdedness of the universities’ traffic network and the facilities’ congestion. Therefore, it is thought that with regard to planning and developing universities campus, the method to use space by a proper plan instead of maximum spatial utilization rate considering systematic management of the chief road network and congestion of facilities by that will lead to more development and higher quality of universities campus.
