Abstract The purpose of this study is to present physical characteristics of vitalized commercial area. To this end, this study constructed objective data of physical status in the nearby blocks of Broadway and Spring St and Prince St in Soho manhattan and analyzed then results are as follows. Firstly, the site is comprised of streets for pedestrians like that proper width of sidewalk and short interval of cross walk and sufficient pedestrian signal timing. It improves the amenity of pedestrians through the continuity of walking. Secondly, the site has a convenient public transportation and road system. It brings people to site to easily. Thirdly, building of the site has a wide width of front. It creates vigorous activity of pedestrians. Fourthly, lower floor of building of the site has a high level of contribution for revitalize of streets. It creates various community and vibrant streets. fifthly, building of the site has a low commercial height and smaller slenderness radio of building. It makes aggressive relationship between pedestrian and streets through visual interest Finally, street furniture of the site spoil the beauty of streets. Therefore it need to active manage in order to revitalize of commercial streets.
