Abstract Recently, the large-scale natural disasters were occurring frequently at home and abroad. Specially, in Korea, immediately after disasters the suffers first stay about two weeks in the emergency evacuation spaces of the accommodation facilities. But there are no concrete residential planning standard or guideline for the emergency evacuation spaces our country. Thus, the purpose of this study is to deduction of the residential planning factors for emergency shelters. To carry out this purpose, we established the goals are as follows; First, to examine the definition and present condition of the emergency shelter in the country through the existing literatures, Second, to comparative analysis of the housing minimum standard in internal and external countries(United State, Japan and Korea) through the quality goal index for the housing of the World Health Organization, Third, to deduction of the residential planning factors at the post disaster characteristics through the comparative analysis of the related guidelines at home and abroad, and existing literature and our indepth interview survey, Finally, to suggest to the appropriate residential planning factors.
