Abstract |
In End-Plate connection, End-Plate and beam are welded in a factory and fastened with bolts in the field. End-Plate connection, one of Partial Rigid Connections(PR) has been observed the structural behavior and deformation performance equivalent to Full Rigid Connections(FR). Four impossible failure modes of End-plate connection subjected to hysteresis behavior are categorized into the plastic deformation in the End-Plate and the beam yielding, the bolt failure, the brittle failure of weld section, The beam yielding and plastic deformation in the End-Plate can perform the enough ductility behavior and inelastic deformation, while the bolt failure and brittle failure of weld section can not perform it. It is important that End-Plate connection prevents the brittle failure and procures the reliability of connection. In this paper, it is propose to occur the plastic deformation in the End-Plate and to procure the reliability of connections. Therefore, we suggested End-Plate yielding connections using only End-Plate for New Steel(SN Steel) limited between upper and lower yield point in order to obtain the enough ductility behavior and End-Plate inelastic deformation. |
