Abstract The purpose of this study is to organize the regional characteristic of bakat-chae (outer quarters) in matgopaejib (facing bent house), built before the year of 1945 in northern Kyong-gi province. Through the study, the remaining homes by offering the possibility of preserving historic architecture can have important implications believe. expanded □-shaped housing the most common place almost in the form of traditionalist □ -shaped housing open to the outside part of the housing is a popular name. Especially Curved shape of the courtyard surrounding the an-chae and bakat-chae to the facing bent house in northern kyeong-gi province account for most of the □ -shaped house. It is differentiated from southeastern kyeong-gi. And associated outbuildings, the location of doorways, especially spatial arrangement of the configuration is different from the southeastern region is characterized. This study in northern kyeong-gi province to target the matgopaejib bakat-chae on the composition of the entry space for classifying and cross-linking of internal and external space, and will analyze the characteristics of functional space.
