Abstract |
The objective of this experimental study is to investigate the structural performance of shear reinforced flat plate-column connections under cyclic lateral load. In experimental investigation, the specimens are tested with structural behavior of reinforced three types of shear reinforcement such as conventional stirrup, studstrip, SRD and compared the results of that without shear reinforcement. This research analyzed the structural performance such as strength and ductility of the connections with each shear reinforcement according to current design criteria. As a result of the load-displacement relationship of the specimens, the rate of increase in shear strengthen effect of SRD was 31%, studstrip was 17%, conventional stirrup was 14% compared with that of a specimen without shear reinforcement. And maximum load occurred for the specimens at 5.0% drift ratio, the specimen without shear reinforcement showed typical punching shear failure, whereas the other specimens with shear reinforcement sustained deformation after that. The results of ductility behavior of the specimens is evaluated in terms of ductility index and energy dissipation, the specimen with SRD reinforcement is superior to the specimens reinforced stirrup or studstrip. |
