Abstract For energy savings in buildings, the external insulation method is recommended for ensuring the adiabatic performance. In using an external panel, there are a lot of researchs on the performance of external insulation panel itself, but there is not many researchs on the joint of panels. So, for this study, four kinds of joints as basic liner type joint, type shaped 'T'joint(improved liner type), type shaped 'ㅗ'joint with EPDM, and type shaped 'I'joint were selected for assesment of panel joint. Test methods of four kinds of absorptiveness, permeability, fatigue resistance and tensile performance were quoted from the Korean Industrial Standards(KS). By analyzing the experimental results, it was observed that improved type procured better performance than basic type in common use and all types effected on performance by analyzing the experimental results.
