Abstract After the word 'development' representing the urbanization of the industrial era has run its course of reflection of the present, it was replaced by the word 'regeneration' in the 21st century, the new era. The figure of the city which is asked by today's oppidans demands space for sightseeing and culture beside production, and the figure that the idle space of city is regenerated as 'park' can be seen, reflecting the trend of today representing 'green' here. The park as a regeneration language of the idle space of city should planned as an infrastructure reacting with city getting out the existing picturesque meaning. But the projects to make parks appeared as a landscape solution for urban regeneration in present Seoul is mainly established by the purpose without much consideration by the experts related to architecture and city. Thus, this study intends to try to find the solution which readjusts the city structure through landscape on the base of 'Landscape Urbanism' suggestion a new landscape solution for urban regeneration in the academic circles of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture getting out of the existing urban regeneration of top down approaching method proceeded by the public. The final purpose of the research development is establishing Landscape Urbanism adopting to the domestic state as a new paradigm for domestic urban regeneration. For this, this study intends to consider with depth and to introduce in the country the theoretical development and the practical trend about Landscape Urbanism appeared in North America and developed about for 20 years by analyzing and arranging the discussions of theorists related Landscape Urbanism not handled in domestic research documents yet.
