Abstract |
Purpose of this study is to suggest design procedure which satisfies seismic performance without existing repetitive tasks for mid-high structures with buckling restrained braces. For this, inverted V-type braces are installed in 10-story, 15-story, 25-story structures. And braces are assumed to support all lateral load. Period was calculated by using inelastic design spectrum which consider concept of equal-displacement in long-period structures. Procedure for designing cross section of buckling restrained brace was proposed. It assumed shape function by considering deformed shape of structures, considered effect of higher modes, applied proper distribution of lateral load. To confirm the behavior of designed structure, nonlinear time-history analyses were conducted. For all structures, it showed the results that guarantee seismic performance. |
