Abstract |
Recently, the number of students living in dormitory in local cities or schools in farming and finishing villages is gradually increasing and also boarding high schools have sprung up by educational policies of the government. Boarding high school is a policy to solve students' inconveniences in long distance commuting to school by supporting modern dormitory facilities for schools in underdeveloped regions such as farming/mountain/fishing villages and to create conditions able to receive wished educations for students without going out to schools in cities by supporting outstanding teachers and good programs as an educational policy of the government promoting as the 'high school diversification policy'. This is an important time for support and investment in learning support area of dormitory according to the present government's education policies and educations focused on college entrance exams only but at the same time, spacial composition and arrangement for living support areas to take the role of relaxation and stress relief is also an important matter to students living in dormitory. Also as recently the government switched over middle & high schools to the departmental classroom system, rest and convenience facilities as living spaces like students' rest, exchange and base spaces are on the rise to be important but such spaces do not hold any important places in schools at this present. In this study, it examines the satisfaction and requirements of rest and living environments in dormitories by students living in high school dormitories located in Chungbuk region and conducted analytical study on how those facilities and spaces of the learning & living support areas are used. Through this study, it has the objective to understand rest and specialized spaces composed in each school, spacial composition and provide the data of constructional design about efficient learning & living support areas for high school dormitories. |
