Abstract This paper aims to analyze the Evaluation of Residential Environment according to housing types, and to identify how the Evaluation of Residential Environment impacts on the housing type choice. The analysis results were as follows; First, the detached dwelling was strong on the respect of sociality, and weak on the respect of health, convenience. Multi-family housing and row houses didn't have any strengths, and weakness of multi-family housing was on the side of amenity, sociality, and weakness of row house on health, amenity. The apartment was strong on health, convenience, amenity parts and weak on the sociality part. Second, the existing dwellers who had relatively high satisfaction with residential environment preferred the detached dwelling to the APT. On the contrary, the existing residents who had been relatively less satisfied with their environment had the tendency to choose the apartment as housing type preference.
