Abstract |
The objective of this study is to show the implementation of new innovative technologies during building retro-commissioning practices to improve building operations and reduce energy costs. The case study building is a hotel with total floor area of 34,140 square meter included guest rooms. Specific building commissioning measures were implemented in the building. Indoor comfort was improved and the energy utility bill shows a reduction in electricity and steam consumption after building commissioning. This paper presents facility information, implementations and detailed descriptions of control sequence and operation comparisons before commissioning and after commissioning for the terminal boxes, air-handling units (AHUs), as well as the chilled water system and hot water system. The results of this study show that electricity savings of 12% and steam savings of 14% on an average. |
