Abstract The purpose of this study is to develop so-called space ontology which is a building information model based on ontology technology. Especially, we propose the method of generating a building information model based on ontology with the concept of affordance which is a quality of an object, or an environment that allows an individual to perform an action. It can enhance the autonomous behavior of human -figured agent rich and realistic with the recognition of not only physical but also social situation in the agent-based simulation system. This paper illustrate the concept of ontology-based building information modeling applying affordance and suggest the prototype of information modeling based on it in the end of paper.
