Abstract The architectural design is a synthetic activity requiring the broad knowledges and awareness in various field. These characteristics require not only the personal knowledge and personal experience but also effective harmonization of the related expertise. Our purpose is to establish an architectural methodology in order to improve the communication of the related expertise in the early phases of schematic design stages. For the achievement of the methodology, we applied new product industrial design methodologies, which are relatively active in the development of methods and tools to promote the collaborative simultaneous design, to architecture design. This paper presents their actual applications to an emergency shelter housing project, and thereby suggested an alternative architecture design process as an evolutionary example for others projects. In addition, we reviewed the application with professional architects in terms of creativity promotion and collaboration, and arranged its advantages and major improvements. As a result, our research proposes an architectural design process model promoting an creative design collaboration between the related experts in the schematic stages.
