Abstract This is a comparative study in the centralized plans between L.B.Alberti's and Leonardo da Vinci's. The shapes of their centralized-plans have been regarded quite similar. Above all, R. Wittkower wrought in 《Architectural Principle in the Age of Humanism》that their relationship was clear, because of their similarity of shapes. So the purpose of this study is to compare the L.B. Alberti's centralized plans with the Leonardo da Vinci's by analyzing the theory of L.B. Alberti's 《de re aedificatoria》and Leonardo da Vinci's sketches in his Codices. The Process of this study is as following, First, the drawing process of each centralized plan will be simulated. Second, the methodological difference to draw one central geometry will be discussed. Third, developed geometries added to one central geometry will be studied. And last, each system that governs each shape of centralized plan will be found.
