Abstract Plan Libre was conceived by Le Corbusier in 1920s and developed during his career bringing emotion in the space. This concept became an important element of architecture and one of the main themes of many architects. Plan Libre was applied to theirs works through its function and form. Among those architects, Henri Ciriani, Alvaro Siza, Richard Meier and Laurent Beaudouin have adapted and developed Plan Libre actively in proper ways. Therefore, this study aims to understand the typologies and characteristics in terms of Plan Libre in their works. Their Plan Libre can be classified into several categories by its form. Furthermore, the characteristics of these categories is also qualified by means of some criteria, such as form, space etc. As a result, it is possible to classify their Plan Libre into several types and each type has its proper characteristics. In conclusion, each architects has interpreted Plan Libre with his own way of perception of emotion in the space. These architects have influenced one another by adopting some types in theirs works but theirs own interpretations.
