Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of energy conservation measures (ECMs) and potential annual energy savings for improving the building energy performance rating of a public office building, using a dynamic energy simulation program such as eQUEST 3.64 (DOE-2.2 ver.). The ECMs proposed in this study includes super insulation, high-performance window, daylighting with dimming control, light-emitting diode (LED) lights, a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS), enthalpy heat recovery systems, water circulation pumps for ground-source heat pump (GSHP) systems, air-side economizer control for a communication room, and so on. As a result, it was identified that the primary annual energy savings of the proposed design with the ECMs can be achieved by 45.3% and 39.6 % when compared to the actual baseline design that doesn't include the ECMs and the 1st building energy performance rating (300 kWh/m2-yr) regulated by Korean government, respectively. |
