Abstract In the hospital, remodeling requires more complicated plan than new construction in the process of rearrangement and relocation plan for department operation and reduction of department under construction as well as conditions of the existing land, operation and maintenance of the existing hospital, utility of the existing space and limit of budget. Moreover, during the period of construction work to minimize suspension of its operation, operating plan (operation of transfer and department reduction), noise and dustproof plan to minimize patients’ damage should be considered together. The relocation plan shows in remodeling process presupposing operating hospital. This study is researching on step and character relocation plan's through case hospital. Case hospitals are three hospitals with scale of more than 500beds. In this study, we analyzed relocating departments strategies and cases of domestic hospitals which have been remodeled recently, and suggested architectural plans for establishing a reasonable departments relocating strategies that needed for hospital remodeling in the future.
