Abstract This paper aimed at contrastive analyzing of structural carpentry terminology for parts at Yingzaofashi《營造法式》 in the era of Song Dynasty and Architectural Uigwe《營建儀軌》 in Joseon Dynasty. The results are as follow. The structural carpentry terminology for parts at Yingzaofashi and Architectural Uigwe are fairly different. At approximately 130 words in Yingzaofashi, the same words at spelling and meaning were 4 words(3%), 34 words(25%) were identified to be synonym, and 18 words(14%) were identified to have relation with each other. The reasons of different between two country's terminology are the difference in structure, the difference in coinage methods, the difference in derivation of words, and the difference in awareness about parts. Terminologies in the same of meaning and spelling at two country are zhu柱, fu? and chuan椽. Terminologies in the same of meaning but different spelling are divided into different linguistic character and different coinage. In specially, at terminologies in the same of meaning but different spelling, Yanhanban??版 in Yingzaofashi and Yeonham連含 in Architectural Uigwe are the same sound as ‘yeonham’ in korean pronunciation. Therefore, there is some possibility that 連含 in Joseon dynasty is sound borrowing of ?? in Song dynasty.
