Abstract Scheduling accuracy is important for successful project management in planning phase. The accuracy of schedule estimation is related to resource management. That's why many researchers have been conducted to investigate the relationship between the resource management and the resource productivity analysis. However, these efforts have almost always concentrated on the construction phase. Therefore, the goal of this research is to develop "Schedule Estimating Method" for structure frame works based on space breakdown structure by quantity take-offs and productivity analysis in planning phase. Accordingly, to improve "Schedule Estimating Method" of public multi-housing projects, the 4 steps of research process are these. 1) previous research results and methodologies are reviewed. 2) the resource data from the bill of quantity and daily report have been collected and analysed. 3) "Schedule Estimating Method" is developed based on productivity information. 4) the case study is examined to determine the usefulness of the results of this method. As a result, the error rate was less than 12%. It means that using this method could support to increase the accuracy of schedule estimation. In future research, this schedule estimating method would be adopted in different facilities.
