Abstract Korean Apartment Complexes shows the alienation of everyday life while reducing its boundary in the area of production and supply. This kind of alienation comes from the western ideas about rationality including economic efficiency and has relation to the tradition of western modern architecture. Therefore the purpose of this study is to show the way the western rationality impacts the everyday life of Korean apartment complexes in the aspects such as the universality of user-concept, physical superiority · standard drawing, familism · egalitarianism and spatial differentiation · functional organization.
