Abstract |
The school as a public place has been growing increasingly important in designing and making policy on school facilities. Schools are becoming a gartering place - a place of life-long learning, shared health and fitness faculties, and a host of other services to enhance community and students' educational success. Additionally, the school, as a locus of positive activity, can serve as a catalyst for strengthening and revitalizing the entire community. At its core, there is a question how users(students, teachers and parents) involve in designing a school facility. To this purpose, this study aims to suggest the Design Quality Indicators(DQI) for schools using Delphi survey method and analytical hierarchical process(AHP). In doing so, it has carried out Delphi surveys in 3 times and AHP surveys in 4 times. As a result, the performance goals(categories) have changed 10 into 8 and the DQI from 40 to 32 ones. Evaluating indicators of each category are developed and weighting values are evaluated by AHP. Above all, this research emphasizes that this user participatory design approach should be based on the principles of recognition, respect and trust between users and school planner(architect). |
