Abstract In order to solve the problem about water leakage in the substation structures which shortens their operation life, the study such as development of waterproof materials is accomplished continuously. But, the preceding test method on waterproof materials does not consider the environment conditions of the structures. In this study, the test devices and specimens are designed to develop test-method for waterproof under loading about vibration of transformers and impact loading due to treatment of electric equipment considering environment conditions of the substation structures. The test apparatus is designed to simulate the behavior of the structures under the variation of temperature and the impulsive vibration load which is induced by the electric transformer. As a result of performance test, the designed apparatus and test specimens showed appropriate waterproofing and crack simulation of substation-structure under various vibration loading and temperature condition.
