Abstract |
This paper researched the structure of sustainable architecture integrated design guideline. The research has been prosecuted in three phases; analysis of architects' needs for guideline and the condition of published guideline in Korea. In a online poll analysis (174 respondents), it has been found that architects not competent to design sustainable architecture due to the lack of practice based knowledges. The published guidelines in Korea focused on the standards and component technologies, so they are not suitable for the architects needs. In order to tackle the present barriers the basic purpose of the integrated design guideline has been established as below; 1) the requirement for multilateral guideline structure according to the readers needs such as initial study, reference for decision makers and practical design guideline 2) inter-relationship between goals for sustainable certification criteria and the present architectural design elements of site planning, building planning, envelope and interior planning and system planning and 3) the requirement of phased-in guideline structure. The basic requirement of sub-integrated design guideline for each design stages has been suggested according to the established purpose; guidelines for design target and process in the preliminary-design stage, guidelines for integrated design in the design development stage, guidelines for detail design and specification in the design development and construction document stages. |
