Abstract Twelve cement mortar(CM) mixes reinforced with Garnet-Nylon fibers and three control cement mortar mixes with no Garnet-Nylon fibers was tested in order to examine the effect of the W/B and replacement ratio of the Garnet-Nylon fibers on the properties of matter and different material properties of CM. Main variables investigated were W/B and replacement ratio of the Garnet and Nylon fibers. The measured material properties of fiber reinforced CM were analyzed using the two types of strength and compared with those recorded with no Garnet-Nylon fibers reinforced CM. The flow of CM decreased with the increase of the W/B. In addition, compressive strength, bending of CM was higher than those of replacement ratio of the Garnet-Nylon fibers, though the total CM was lower than that with no Garnet-Nylon fiber. For enhancing the toughness and strength of CM, using the GA of 5 % and Nylon fiber of 0.5 % replacement ratio was more effective than using the GA of 10 % and Nylon fiber of 0.7 % replacement ratio.
