Abstract This study investigates the transformative trend of office space. The transformative trend of office space is mainly occurred by the development of Information Technology. The change of the environmental quality by the change of needs, the programmatic mix with culture/information/nursery space, and the emerging concepts-mobility, home office, and etc- are the new trends of the office transformation. Also the contemporary ideas of work organization, work type and work mode should be defined for the investigation of design elements and space programming of new office layout. As a case study of new trends and transformative ideas, Daum Global Media Center in Jeju island is analysed. A plan is developed an office space with the new paradigm according to the new settlement in Jeju Island from the center of Seoul. Crucial elements of plan should consider the new program through the research of work organization, work type and work mode in the pursuit of the communication development covered with the global. Thus the various office spaces, such as media gallery, media hall, lounge, unit, alley, and all the circulation spaces, are presented corresponding to the transformative trends of office space. All the space programs are composed by the architectural composition concept as “Wind Instrument” which is derived from the identity of Daum Corporate Identity and the placeness of the building site, Jeju Island in Korea.
