Abstract As consideration about high oil prices and CO2 reducing increase recently, residents lived in detached houses are concerning heating and cooling costs more than before. As a result, low energy house with various techniques has developed, but reasonable construction fee is still a special issue to apply rural housing. The purpose of this study is to verify appropriate construction type, proper high insulation and affordable material for rural green home by the experimental method. Therefore, two full scale mock-ups were constructed, one with ecological material (Rice hull) and the other with sandwich panel which are commonly used in rural area, and both mock-ups were designed with PHPP2007 for thermostatic simulation. Temperature, humidity, and heating energy were checked by the monitoring system, and thermal performance and applying possibility for rural green home were verified.
