| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between the projects of Rem Koolhaas and the architecural avant-gardes of 60's. 1960's and early '70 is the period plenty of new urban ideas and the radical architectural experiments. This period saw the emergence of avant-gardes more than any periods in 20th century. Koolhaas was influenced not only by the modern architects such as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, Russian avant-garde which is mentioned in the text of Koolhaas, but also by the avant-gardes of 60's such as Team 10, megastructure, Archigram, Archizoom, Superstudio, Situationist international, Claude Parent, O.M.Ungers and Venturi. This relationship is relatively less studied. Therefore, this study intends to examine their influence in the thinking and projects of Koolhaas. |
