Abstract The purpose of this study is to develop a convenient skin temperature measuring method which can predict the elderly person's thermal sensation. It is meaningful as a basic research to show the new guideline about thermal environment when planning in an experiment. ASHRAE 7 point thermal sensation scale and 4 point thermal comfort scale were used to measure subjects' thermal sensation. The experiment on chamber was conducted, Temperature was controlled to one of those three temperature levels(20℃, 25℃, and 30℃ in 50% level of relative humidity). Chamber was controlled to one of those three temperature levels. Each subject participated in all three conditions. They answered to the paper about thermal sensation with measuring the skin temperature in each condition. All subjects waited in pre-chamber for 30 minutes before they enter the chamber. Subject's skin temperature was measured in every 10 seconds and thermal sensation was marked in every 15minutes. they are exposed to the thermal environment of chamber for 100 minutes.
