Abstract The purpose of this paper is to create the guideline for motivating ambulation in walkable-street-building project. The walkable-street-building project pursues an expanding space for citizens. Also this project is aim to arose pedestrian`s walking. Despite desirable intention, this project is as standstill. Because the majority of prior attempts are concentrating on design improvement and landscape plan, thus causing a failures in walkable-street building project. These failures are wasting the financial resources on local government. To overcome this situation, the guideline in this paper suggests a model deducting factors for motivating ambulation. This model is expanded to include physical requirements, which is shown to be necessary for improving the street environment. As a result of this study, walkable-street-building project is expected to contribute to creating public space for citizens and activate walking area for urban environment.
