| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is interpret the spatial characteristics of Olympic Weight Lifting Stadium by Kimm Jong-Soung. In the Korean modern architecture, Kimm Jong-Soung did a role to bring the modernism of Mies van der Rohe into Korea. Through the analysis of the spatial characteristics of the Olympic Weight Lifting Stadium, this study interpret two characteristics of the architectural spaces of it. First, the clear expression of the structure system. Second, the inner directed spatial concept. This study aims to understand the architectural approaches of Kimm Jong-Soung's clear span building and to clarify the acceptance of the Mies's modernism to Korea. |
