Abstract This study suggests ways of risk management for the PPP project, which is one of the types of healthcare infrastructure projects in the overseas construction market. The business participants took part in surveys on the importance of risk factors in order to suggest methods of risk mitigation. To this end, PPP projects are divided into four stages and risk factors in each phase of the PPP project are classified into 12 kinds of higher risks with 35 kinds of sub-risks. Importance of each risk factor was high at the planning stage and the contract stage. Especially, importance of financial risks such as currency rate and interest rate, government reliability, and contracts was turned out high. This implies that assessment and control of the risks at the early stage is so important. Thus risk control at the planning stage should be handled as an essential management factor.
