Abstract In a bid to tackle the problems related with the welfare of seniors who are increasing in number everyday, a plan for complex facilities for seniors was come up with. This seems to be a help for securing a land whose price is rising in the city and good intercourse among seniors and other users. In order to study on the plan for complex facilities for seniors that can be constructed in evert medium region, the researchers of this study selected 25 welfare centers in Seoul which are considered as complex facilities for seniors. Then, the researchers classified them based on spatial characteristics. Moreover, investigation on the status quo of space and programs for users and interview of experts were carried out. Through this study, the researchers reached a conclusion as follow. The space needs to be classified and divided according to each function of a space based on the users’ body and health conditions. Moreover, a convenience space for natural intercourse between people also needs to be increased in number for common use. The researchers proposed a new urban-style complex facility for seniors for the sake of community improvement rather than the previous complexation with a specific facility.
