Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to estimate one’s vertical travel time and to develop a new numerical model in order to be introduced into evacuation simulation models finally through doing a full-scaled experiment at a high-rise building. As an evacuee should go through stairs vertically, his or her travel time was determinated by physical properties such as BMI and stamina level. The longer one’s travel distance, the more wasted his or her stamina so a graph of travel time did not show a constant gradient or linear line. This study finally found which factor was the most important determinant and developed a numerical travel time prediction model. |
