Title Management Efficiency Prediction Model for the Korean Construction FirmsUsing DEA-Logit Methodology

Abstract Since the global financial crisis, Korean construction firms are confused by external management environments. Therefore, Management efficiency evaluation for efficient management and competitiveness of construction firm is becoming important. In previous studies, management efficiency analyzed to use Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). However, it is individually difficult to analysis the efficiency of specific firm. The aim of this paper is to suggest a efficiency prediction model as possible efficiency for the specific construction firm by using DEA and Logit. This paper is organized as follows. First, the authors reviewed relevant literature on DEA and previous study. Second, the authors selected the inputs and output for DEA analysis and analyzed efficiency of 37 construction firms using DEA. Third, the authors purposed a efficiency prediction model based on efficiency score using Logit. Anayisis results indicate that the estimated overall prediction rate is 86.5%, based on a CCR(Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes) efficiency score of 0.5 and 88.5% based on CCR efficiency score of 0.7 or higher or less than 0.5. The efficiency prediction model does not use the data of construction firm used existing analysis and enable to predict efficiency of a specific construction firm, when efficiency analysis of new construction firm.
