Abstract |
Main objective of this study is to investigate experimently the structural performances beam to column joints using the new type connecting system, which is composed of metal connector and adhesive. Also. bonding strength tests for curing period were carried out. The metal connectors embedded into the wood with adhesive in new type connecting system. In order to improve the bond strength, threaded steel rods are used as metal connector. The advantages of this system are easy control of strength, easy assembly, fire resistance, corrosion resistance, fine appearance, and saving material. The main parameters in beam to column specimen are diameter and embedded length of metal connectors. The bond strength which is composed of metal connector and adhesive ?is more than 4.2PMPa and showed a stable value after three days. Thus, the bond strength can be designed as 3.5MPa in case of considering safety factor (D = 0.9). Also, specimens using the suggested beam to column joints are shown stable hysteresis behaviors and can be calculated by the suggested equation. |
