Abstract |
Technologies for solar power, an alternative energy source to the fossil fuel, became the main part in developing renewable energy resources. Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) is the most representative technology to use solar power, which produces energy by applying the integrated solar device to the building's window, rooftop or external wall. As traffic noise barriers are commonly constructed around urban roads passing through the cities, it is required to develop the new technology to produce solar power by attaching solar cells to them. While Japan and the United States have already built a noise barrier with solar cell, Korea has not developed relevant technologies yet. This study investigates foreign cases of solar cell applications to noise barriers, analyzes its design, and proposes the applicable technology in Korea. |
