Abstract |
The purpose of this article is to examine the applicability of Multipurpose Solar Exchanger System with an Integrated Photovoltaic (hereafter referred to as MSES) for the solution of energy problems in building. For this purpose, sensitivity analysis was carried out to determine the optimal design factors for the air space thickness and fan flow velocity. Moreover, to analyze the functions of MSES depending on its operation mode, the heat flows were compared with that of normal PV walls. An analysis model was also selected for a comparative analysis of the heating and cooling loads, PV temperatures, and PV generation. The results of the quantitative analysis show that MSES can achieve reduction in the heating and cooling loads, and also increase PV efficiency and power generation than the normal PV walls through the discharge of the surplus heat that occurs at the back of the PV. |
