Abstract Carbon dioxide emissions have been increasing resulting from building industry, so that it involves global warming and environmental pollution. Korea Meteorological Agency's climate change data of the past thirty years have been analyzed, categorized by Korea's regional and geographical characteristics; Seoul, Ulsan, and Jeju Island corresponding to inland area, seaside district, island, respectively. Major factors of energy consumption analysis for building including temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and solar radiation have been intensively analyzed. In the case of temperature, it has been analyzed, classified into frost days and tropical nights. The result of analysis shows that summer period and tropical nights have increased whereas winter period and frost days have decreased. With regard to cooling load variation for building by meteorological elements' change, dry-bulb temperature and solar radiation have considerably changed but relative humidity and wind speed have hardly changed. As a result of analysis for time-series meteorological elements' change and building load by bulb temperature change, building load can be approximately figured out using heating load with temperature, but when it comes to cooling load which has a wide variation, it would be reliable when solar radiation is additionally considered for analysis.
